André directing New Genesis Gospel Chorale live on stage at Broadway Meets Gospel

// directing NGGC live — dancers, lights, musicians, singers, and crew all cueing off this moment

Who's running the show

I speak my crew's language — because I've done their job.

This isn't a podium and a baton — it's a live Broadway-style production, and I'm calling cues in real time while performing in it myself. Dancers, lights, musicians, singers, and stage crew are all reading off me, in the moment, with no do-overs. That's not a side interest. It's why I know what "good" feels like in every department I now direct, and why I can speak precisely with every specialist on a crew instead of guessing at what they need.

Singer. Performer. Real-time show director. Editor. Lighting tech. Executive producer. Same instinct, applied at a different altitude.

Arctacia — The Immersive Winter Ball

Conceived and produced an immersive winter ball from concept to opening night — video wall mapping, special effects, live talent, and a guest-capture program (EvokeShots) that gave every attendee a curated "prince or princess" moment on camera. Also ran the internship program that staffed part of the production.

Broadway Meets Gospel Vol. 1 — Remastered

Full-scale live concert production for New Genesis Gospel Chorale, restaged and remastered from the original run. Directed a full production crew — stage management, FOH, A/V, band leadership — called live staging and blocking for performers in real time, programmed DMX lighting and haze effects, ran a complete ProPresenter cue system, and led pre-production marketing across email, targeted paid social, and a church-ambassador outreach network. The original run sold 320 of 450 seats (71%) with zero marketing collateral or prior proof of concept; the two runs combined drew 520 attendees.

Documentary-style music video series

Behind the music: four videos, one story

Commissioned by a non-profit singing group to produce four original music videos, structured as a mini-documentary: behind-the-scenes footage of the group preparing for the NGGC experience, self-directed testimonials from participants on the project's real-world impact, and comedic "mockumentary"-style segments stitching the story together — before revealing the four finished music videos. Owned every stage: venue acquisition, talent, arrangement, and edit. Presented as a full virtual experience for audiences who could only attend from home during COVID-era restrictions.

Lift Every Voice

A virtual choir rendition of "Lift Every Voice and Sing," built entirely from individually submitted recordings. Self-initiated and crowdfunded — recruited and directed the participants, arranged the vocal parts, brought in professional performers to anchor the sound, and edited the full multi-track video from the ground up.

Beyond the stage

Building the machine, not just the show

Producing is only half the job at scale. The other half is the infrastructure underneath it — budgets, vendors, risk, and the people who report to you when it isn't showtime. That side runs through a parallel career in higher-ed program leadership.

Portfolio, not just a production

Owns a $4–5M program portfolio spanning 8 concurrent lines — one P&L, one person accountable for all of it.

Vendor & partner governance

Negotiates technology and vendor partnerships — including Autodesk and Procore — and decides what stays in-house versus what gets delegated to trusted partners.

Risk, in real time

Rebuilt a program's international pipeline after a federal policy shock cut its target market to a third overnight — without losing program quality.

Built for union and non-union rooms

Led unionized and non-unionized teams, and built formal advisory councils with named industry and faculty leadership.

Also in the mix

Recurring live work

Workshops and concerts ranging from 200–500 attendees, produced on an ongoing basis alongside flagship shows.

Marketing & press

Direct collaboration with marketing teams on press releases and campaign strategy for event promotion.

Corporate & industry meetings

Chair new-product and industry-partner discussions in a parallel program leadership role — while also producing the room itself: venue, catering, hospitality. Same instinct as the stage: own the substance and the experience at once.

Notable venues

Tribute Communities Recital Hall (York University) · Lighthouse Immersive (home of Immersive Van Gogh).

Broadcast & livestream direction

Stream Director for a 1,000-member congregation, growing its subscriber base while leading a team of Tricaster operators. BTS director for WestLINK, a weekly livestream — asset creation, live cueing of hosts and guests, and calling topic transitions from backstage. Hands-on with Tricaster, OBS, and StreamYard.
